It’s because both characters jump into the pool of red water. It makes them teleport. To avoid it, you have to jump over that red pool. Keep in mind that the red square can collect red diamonds and the blue triangle can collect blue diamonds but both of them can pick up yellow diamonds. You don’t have to collect every single diamond to finish each level. Just pick up some and reach the door and that level is clear.
